Keepin' It Casual.

The weather is pretty warm today, so I thought it was perfect to throw on a sheer blouse, white cuffed shorts, and some casual brown sandals. I spiced up my outfit just a little by stacking some bracelets and adding a few of my pyramid studded rings. I tried so hard not to bust out laughing here, but it just wouldn't work lol. Anyways, hope you liked this OOTD!

XOXO,
Jenny.

Rings Galore...

On days where I want to spice up my outfit, I love to stack my rings.
Here is MOST of my ring collection (I misplaced some).
A lot of popular stores such as F21, H&M, and UO sell packs of rings for a few bucks.
Hmmmm, you may ask... How I store them? In my old glasses case, of course.
Where else would I? (;

XOXO,
Jenny.

P.S. : Leave a comment down below how YOU like to spice up your outfits!

NOTD 07/28/12 - Sephora by OPI - Caught With My Khakis Down

Since summer started, I've been obsessed with my neon pink, purple, and turquoise nail polishes. Yesterday I decided to take a little break away from my bright summery colors and put on one of my mutated green nail polishes: Caught With My Khakis Down by Sephora by OPI. For a while I kind of forgot how much I loved this color since I was so caught up with bright nail polishes recently... But now I realize why I loved this color so much! Even though this color might not be suitable for everyone, for me it's such a unique, khaki color that adds a little something different to my daily outfits. I suggest checking this polish out if you want a nice dark green nail polish! (Retails @ Sephora for $9.50).

Out Of This World...

Simple, Yet Edgy.

Drugstore Mascara Reviews - Hits & Misses

Hey everyone! This is my first makeup/beauty post!
Mascaras are great tools to lengthen and thicken your lashes! They are a must-have, staple item for your makeup collection as they are perfect for amping up your eye makeup look & also to bring your eyes to attention! However, finding the right mascara with a budget-friendly price that works for you can be pretty difficult. Here are some mascaras that I've personally tried in the past that I did not like or that I am proud to recommend to you! So I categorized these mascaras into "Hit" or "Miss". ("Hit" meaning I give this mascara a THUMBS UP, and "Miss" meaning I would suggest you passing this mascara up the next time you're at the drugstore).

So let's start off with the "Hits"...

1) L'Oreal Telescopic Clean Definition Mascara

This is probably one of the best lengthening mascaras I have yet to find at the drugstore. It really lives up to its name; this mascara provides you great, clean, natural-looking coats for your lashes with very minimal clumping. The packaging is quite sleek, and the wand itself is very thin and easy to use. The price is pretty good for what you get as well! ($7-8 depending on the drugstore).
For ratings, I would give this mascara a 4.0/5.0!

2) CoverGirl Lash Blast Original Mascara

This VERY popular and overly-hyped mascara have been many girls' favorites ever since it came out. This mascara is excellent at lengthening & thickening your lashes to a certain extent. However, one thing that I'm quite disappointed with this mascara is the wand. It is a little too thick for my taste and it can be a little too stiff and inflexible. Other than that, the formula is great and not too watery! The packaging is on the better side, but the color (orange) is a little tacky (haha). The price is GREAT for what you get ($6-7 depending on the drugstore).
For ratings, I would give this mascara a 3.6/5.0!

3) Maybelline Volum' Express the Mega Plush Mascara

This is a fairly new mascara in the beauty industry, but I think it's one of the best mascaras Maybelline came up with so far! Let's start off with the packaging, because this is my favorite part. I absolutely LOVE the color and the overall shape of this mascara. It's super adorable and its bright blue color makes me want to reach for it every morning! The formula is pretty decent, but it is a little bit on the watery side. However, it provides great, NATURAL volume and coats every lashes (I really mean EVERY LASHES) and does a fairly good job for lengthening as well. The BEST part of this mascara is the wand. I can't stop obsessing over how flexible this wand is. It has a light, bendable applicator so it's perfect for coating all those little lashes in the inner/outer corners of your eyes. One little tip: do not buy the waterproof one because they're super difficult to take off even with a heavy duty makeup remover! It retails for around $6,
depending on the drugstore.
For ratings, I give it a 4.2/5.0!

So here are some mascaras that were definitely a "Miss" for me....
Keep in mind that just because these mascaras didn't work for me, it doesn't mean that it won't work for you! Everyone has different eye shapes and different lashes, so everyone has different preferences!

1) Maybelline New York Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length Mascara

One thing I like about this mascara is the packaging.
THAT'S IT.
The formula itself is horrible because it does
not hold your curls at all! It basically reverses
all the time you put in to curling your lashes with
your lash curler! The ink on your lashes do not even
last the entire day, it actually ends up on your
eyelid or under your eyes. And who wants raccoon eyes?
Uh, NO ONE! On top of that, the smell of this
mascara stinks. For ratings, I give it a 0.5/5.0!
(0.5 for the pretty packaging).

2) Maybelline Great Lash Orignial Mascara

This mascara has existed FOREVER in the
beauty industry, and it's still being sold at the
drugstore. I don't understand WHY. It's horrible.
Yes, the packaging is cute and pretty but as
for the actual formula of this mascara.... EW.
This mascara provides absolutely no decent length
and volume for your lashes. All this mascara does
for your lashes is CLUMP, CLUMP, and MORE CLUMP.
The price is pretty cheap for a mascara
($4-5 at the drugstore) but it's not worth those dollars.
For ratings, I give this a 1.0/5.0 for the pretty packaging
and good wand!
P.S. : This line "Maybelline Great Lash" has many versions of mascaras with different formulas and wands. I haven't tried the other ones yet, but if you have, feel free to leave comments down below and tell me your thoughts!

3) Almay Intense I-color Volumizing Mascara

This mascara comes in various colors to match the color of your eyes. It claims to "intensify and bring out the color of your eyes"... So I bought the one in purple amethyst (for brown eyes) and I was very disappointed. No, it does not "intensify and bring out the color of your eyes". The purple hue of the formula is barely noticeable on my lashes and is VERY clumpy. It's "alright" for lengthening and volumizing your lashes, but I was really disappointed by the fact that this mascara claims to do something that it doesn't. False advertisement! :( Also, the packaging is ugly, and the wand is kinda funky to work with. The price is pretty cheap for a mascara ($5-6 depending on the drugstore) but there are definitely better mascaras you can buy with those five dollars. For ratings, I give this a 2.0/5.0 for the okay length & volume it provides.

So, I hope you enjoyed my little suggestions & rants of these 6 mascaras! Leave comments down below if you've tried any of these mascaras and tell me your experiences with them! Also, leave comments of what YOUR favorite/worst mascaras are! Feel free to leave requests as well! Thanks & I'll ttyl on my next blog post!

XOXO,
Jenny.

Sweaters, Sweaters, and More Sweaters

Yes, I know, it's the middle of summer. But I just could not help but to start my first fashion post without discussing something I love year-round: sweaters. Sweaters come in many different colors and sizes, just like us. It's so easy to dress it up or dress it down. They're obviously super cozy and cute in the winter, but they're also perfect for those chilly summer nights. They look so effortless and give off that "girl next door" look.

Introduction - Me, Myself, and I

One of the main reasons why I started this blog is because I am constantly inspired by many famous bloggers in this "blogging world". I was fascinated by how they discuss many aspects of fashion/beauty ranging from hot trends, makeup, to their personal styles. I love to read and see pictures of anything relating to fashion, cosmetics, etc. I can literally spend the whole day looking through fashion magazines and eying the hottest trends on the runway, if I could. From the last two years of following many bloggers, watching beauty gurus on YouTube, and looking at pictures of fashion, I've developed a huge passion for fashion (hence my blog title). I am so happy that I have the opportunity to contribute and share what I know about fashion and most importantly... just do what I love to do.

By the way, I am sixteen goin' on seventeen~
As a high school student, I am always trying my best to balance out my time between academics, sports, clubs, and friends. Even though my schedule is pretty hectic, I believe I can squeeze in time to blog about what I love: fashion and beauty.
This is definitely going to be a challenge for me, but an interesting one.

I'm pretty excited about this.... Actually, I'm SUPER ECSTATIC! (;

XOXO,
Jenny.
